CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWPORT BEACH, CLASS OF 2013 ON GRADUATING.
CLASS OF 2014 HAS JUST NOW ENTERED THEIR SENIOR YEAR.
Having no family, except your younger sixteen year old brother, to help you out with your messed up life, was no help at all. It was hard to be a seventeen year old that has to take over several bills and payments that he shouldn't even have to worry about for at least one more year, but no, Elijah Wyker was left with bills and his younger brother, Ian. Plus, they are both in high school still, which made things a lot worse for Eli. He had no friends, no love life, and no teenage dreams. He was the one that had to throw all of that away when his parents died a few months ago, in a horrible car accident.
Eli sighed as he walked, stressfully down the street. He had so many thoughts on his mind, he shouldn't even be thinking about at seventeen. "I have the house payment, cell phone bills. Why am I the one stuck with all of these responsibilities? Oh right, your parents died back in Janurary." He stepped into the restaurant that his parents absolutely loved for their famous coffee and different types of drinks. Eli sat down at a booth and ordered a coffee. As he waited, Eli looked out the window, watching the cats pas by. "Only if life was simple."
[/i] He knew that would be impossible, but it was what he wished for most. Eli watched as a girl, around his age, walk into the cafe, with a gloomy look on her face.

I’ll dance with myself, I drunk myself down, Found people to love, Left people to drown, I'm not scared to jump, I'm not scared to fall, there was nowhere to land, I wouldn't be scared at all…
So, her dance rehersal hadn't gone fabulously, she'd almost fallen from the piano when she climbed down after the lesson, and she was beginning to think that teaching her lesson from on top of the grand so that everyone could see what she was trying to show them, so, that hadn't been good, but the girls weren't responding to her techniques and she wasn't sure whether they would be ready for their first show since she'd taken over their class just over six weeks before. Heading home straight away, in the mood she was currently in, she knew she shouldn't. That was why she made her way into a cafe that she would never go into normally, it wasn't that there was anything wrong with the cafe, she just didn't go into them, her life was spent at home, at school, and down at the dance school, she never really went anywhere else as she had no need to.
The blonde hadn't actually realised that she was looking as upset as she did when she walked into the cafe, but shortly she noticed that someone was staring at her, she looked at them and quickly smiled at them before she went to buy her drink hopefully they wouldn't have left before she paid and went to find them, but it could be possible that they'd have left. A tea in her hand, Mallory made her way back to the person who'd caught her eye and she smiled at him once more, "Hey, do you mind if I sit here, only, I noticed you staring and figured you needed a friend," the second the words fell out of her mouth with the English accent making them sound even more blunt and even more harsh than they had done before, she could have kicked herself, why was she so blunt, well, at least she knew it wasn't because she found herself with a mini crush, since she was anything but blunt in those situations.
Elijah Wyker, the loner of Newport High, the un-social kid, unpopular. That mostly described him but he never imagined that the girl that walked in, was actually talking to him. 'Must be something in the air. Or her tea.' He shrugged off the thought and nodded his head yes, to answer her. "Oh, yes, please do sit down. I would love some company." Eli smiled politely, and gestured for the girl to sit down across from him.
As he looked down at his coffee, he noticed that the girl in front of him, seemed a year or two older than him, and maybe a grade higher than him. It made Eli wonder if he had ever seen her around school, but he couldn't think of any times that he had seen her or he hadn't been paying attention. "Would you like to tell me why you look so sad?"
[/b] He looked up at her and put his hands on his lap to keep them from fidgeting, it was a bad habit he had when he was nervous and right now he was nervous. It was because he had never once had a female speak to him, unless they really had to. He realized he hadn't said his name, and before he felt like he was being rude, he spoke up. "My name is Elijah Wyker. What's your name?" Eli softly smiled and waited for her answer.

I’ll dance with myself, I drunk myself down, Found people to love, Left people to drown, I'm not scared to jump, I'm not scared to fall, there was nowhere to land, I wouldn't be scared at all…
The words the younger person spoke, made her smile a little bit, so, he hadn't just been staring because she looked a little odd wearing ballet gear and a tweed jacket, not that she really cared all too much, but she did care what people thought of her which was really her one flaw, if she had to have one that she gave herself. Not that she thought herself as perfect but it was a thing that she thought about often, it was the most common of all flaws, and unfortunately it was one she had. "Thank you, that's very kind," her words were firm and deliberate, she didn't want to say anything that might spoil a friendship that they could form at all. After speaking, she slid into the booth oposite him and, whilst cupping her hands around her cup of tea she smiled absently, as though she was thinking about something entirely different.
Although she recognised him, though she was unsure of where, that wasn't what she was thinking about, instead she was thinking about, not only people she knew but also on a dance she was choreographing, her hands tilted ever so slightly into different arcs. "Sad, I didn't think I did look so, but, it's nothing I have reason to bother you with, if there's any reason at all to be sad." Gently, she smiled, she could tell he was nervous, though she couldn't imagine quite why he had reason to be, then again, she'd never been afraid of much, and what she did fear was remarkably petty, "Your name is very nice, Elijah, my name's Mallory, it's very nice to meet you."
Eli smiled at the girl, as she cupped her hands around her tea. "Your welcome, I guess I do need to talk to someone. Maybe you could be the one to listen?" He glanced at her and picked up his coffee, and sipped on it then put it back down on the table, to see what she was going to say.
He wondered if Mallory had time to listen to his sad story, maybe she would help him and Ian out? If she wouldn't, at least he would have a friend to talk to. He sighed and wondered how he would be able to talk about his family, when it only happened a few months ago. Sure, it was going to be hard but he would never forget the day that it happened. But, several questions lay unanswered. How did the file end up in their kitchen with their mother and father's pictures in it? Why didn't anyone call the two brothers and inform them of their parents' death. That's what Eli really wanted to know but the police refuse to give out information about the accident, even to the victim's two sons.
If he told Mallory that he and Ian were staying in their home alone, would she turn them in to the police? Or worse, put them both in foster care, without either one of them knowing if they would see each other again or if they would get adopted together. Surely, he couldn't go to foster care since he's almost eighteen? His brother, on the other hand, would be stuck in that place for two years, if he isn't adopted before then. "If I tell you my story, do you promise not to tell anyone or turn me in to the police?" He spoke low so no one around them would overhear and call the police anyway.
