Overall Personality:
Caleb likes people, he's always been surrounded by them and he's always more comfortable around others than on his own, which is why having a dog that loves to live as your second shadow is an amazing thing. Literally he's had conversations with this wonderful canine. One sided but all the same...
He's friendly, very cheesy and sometimes says jokes the wrong way or gets things wrong and has awkward moments but tries to push them aside with a goofy grin - or pretending he didn't say anything at all. His brain works faster than his mouth so that means that sometimes what comes out of Caleb's mouth is severely unedited.
He's a friendly affectionate friend and if there's being alone isn't something Caleb relishes so he'll en-devour to at least have one friend he can spend lots of time with because loneliness scares the bejeezus out of him.
Caleb is very creative. He can sing, dance, act and athletic. He's very clever with words and fails epically with numbers and math unless he works real hard, by that, meaning a nice little pass in the form of a c or d+. But hey, no-ones perfect. He does have a brilliant memory though so jamming details in his head temporarily the night before somewhat works.
Not someone who has patience for rudeness or idiocy (beyond the fun kind) he can sometimes be a little bad tempered to such people. Unless it's not their fault and they aren't capable of intelligence. Most are. They're just too lazy to bother. He loves to talk and he loves the limelight onstage but generally prefers to mix offstage.
Caleb loves food. He loves to cook it, eat it and look at it. His mother is an amazing cook and he started wanting to learn to cook with her as soon as he could hold the wooden mixing spoon.
Because of his love of food Caleb also has to keep in shape. Not that it's a problem when you're someone who doesn't really stop moving. He loves jogging every morning and he's the kind of guy who'd be up for anything - especially if it involves water. He also likes to play basketball on a social level but never really understood why people get so aggro over sport team matches - as if it's the end of the world if you lose. Thus he lacks the drive to want to kick the opponents butt in team sports making him something of a non-contender but he's always up for watching a good game.

Overall History:
His birth....
Caleb was born... well he doesnt know where but he was always told he was born in Chicago. However he came to Newport at 14 and started school because his mom bought a shop. Yep. She bought a shop, a new-age shop to be exact, and she is a practicing wiccan. That means she believes in a whole lot of things including self-empowerment.
That means he was raised to be confident and sure of himself. He's careful about what he tells people about his mother because she's, well, different but he loves her dearly and he knows she has family somewhere but he's never met them. He believes he was born in a hospital and while his mother has shown his birth certificate with the details of the hospital he was health-checked out after he was found and the date he was found (as his birth date) he has yet to find out the truth.
His childhood....
Caleb's childhood was fun. She was always busy with friends or her wiccan group and Caleb was always that child with a smile on his face so they adored his little presence. Let's not get anything confused - she's not a witch nor does she practice it but she believes in mother earth and all those things he's been raised around to know about.
He found out this was not a normal life when he started school. The teasing came and there was even a moment where he was locked in a dark room in the school hall for hours before the teachers realized a 10 year old was stuck inside. Caleb has hated silence and had nightmares for a while afterwards.
Watching her sons confidence diminish his mother, Angela Macchitelli, moved him to a new school in a new area and taught him that perhaps it wasn't best that everyone knew about everything in their life. Over the next few years her bright spark came back again and by the time he reached high-school he was a bright young man with far too much energy. A string of failed relationships on his mothers part meant he saw guys come and go but no-one ever became a father figure to him.
His ooh la la....
It started in puberty. Where everyone was staring at girls he was looking the other way. Things were awkward in the changing rooms and he wasn't sure what to do about it. Angela had already guessed years before, a mothers instinct, and took him to see a movie. It was about a coming of age gay movie called 'These Special Friendships'. It was an old movie, way ahead of it's time, but it changed his world.
There's been a lot of untold crush's, one boyfriend that lasted three weeks, no girlfriends and seven hook ups to his name. There's been very little said to his mother because that's just... awkward. Plus she'd ask a lot of uncomfortable questions. So not worth the telling.
His sport....
During the course of his secondary education he threw himself into the swimming team, a natural dancer and athlete, he also threw himself into the drama side of school performance and also joined glee club.
His dancing....
When Caleb was 9 his mother saw a notable interest ind dancing. She took him to a dance and tap school and he kept dancing and hasn't stopped since. At 12 Caleb asked to start different dancing classes and has been learning latin, salsa and hop hop since then. He has also been doing contemporary dancing as well. He still has a soft spot for tap and loves contemporary the most.
Moving to Newport Beach...
His mother and 1 year old dog Scruffy moved into a small little flat on top of the new-age shop his mother bought and now runs near the beach area of Newport Beach. He attends school at the local high-school and looks forward to having adventures with you.
behind the character
The lights had finally been turned on tonight and after checking there was no alcohol hidden anywhere he'd left his father to sorting out the photos of the family slowly as he always did, especially of his mother. That was always the most depressing part, watching his Giorgio carefully and lovingly position each photo like he desperately wanted her to leap out of it. As much as Joshua did want that too he knew it wasn't going to happen and wallowing in self-pity was never going to fix things. She was gone and that man was the only person he had left of his family. It was dangerous walking outside, granted, at night and in midnight but he just wasn't going to watch that again. Not tonight.
taking a flashlight and a water bottle to go for a run he started getting into the motion, sticking to the paths because the last thing Josh wanted was a broken leg. Plus, for some reason, he'd always felt good in the moonlight. A little re-vitalised. Running through the forest now it became a lot darker and he had started to slow down, considering maybe turning around and going home. Maybe his father was done drowning in his own grief and he could get some study in before bed.
That was when he saw the lone figure of another teenager in the park, sucked in a breath, and hoped it wasn't a vampire. Granted if it was a human then the 16 or 17? year old kid was in danger too and he'd be a horrible person if he pretended he didn't see the guy. Hoping he was doing the right thing he called out, his sicillian accent still very evident after having spent 8 years in america. "Hello? you ok? it's not safe in the woods alone." Like he could talk.. but it wasn't like anyone would really miss him besides one if he did go. His italian family barely knew him anymore and he lived too far away and had too little to visit them in over six years. Maybe this kid had loving parents and a lot of friends.
