Waiting, that’s all it was, and it was hard. Hoping she’d hear from him, hoping she’d be able to hear his voice one night, stalking out the mail man to see if there’d be a letter, only to not see one in the mail. The waiting that’s what the hardest part was. Not knowing if he was okay one minute, and not the next. Kaiden hated the waiting. It wasn’t like Zeke was her boyfriend or anything. But he was her best friend. She did everything with him. “Come on Zeke, please have a letter for me today,”
Kaiden pulled her hair back as she walked outside. She dug through the mailbox and sorted through everything. Bills, bills she couldn’t afford to pay right then, grades from school, another notice saying she was at risk of not graduating, and that she had to show up to school. “Come on Zeke, why haven’t you written,” She murmured out loud. She knew why he hadn’t written. He was busy he had a lot of stuff to deal with. Kaiden decided to take a break from being inside. She opened up the bills. She needed to figure out which bills could wait and which had to be paid instantly. At only eighteen Kaiden had to worry about this stuff. She had to take care of her grandmother and often the medical bills didn’t always get covered by the insurance. Kaiden hoped that things would start to look up soon.
