CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWPORT BEACH, CLASS OF 2013 ON GRADUATING.
CLASS OF 2014 HAS JUST NOW ENTERED THEIR SENIOR YEAR.
It was raining and it had been for the last hour. There were a few people in starbucks but not many. Not with this weather raining down. That meant that Caleb and his workmate Jake were somewhat mucking around as they awaited a customer to grace them with their coinage and notage of prestige. Jake was pulling an impression of one of the customers, as professional as ever, who regularly came in and was not a morning person and killed it with the tired cranky look that made Caleb snort with laughter.
"Ok now, mr. performer extraordinaire, impress me with an impression of a... monkey eating a banana." Caleb had to raise his eyebrows and snorted again. "You have like.. no imagination. Really? A monkey eating a banana?" He smirked as he finished cleaning the last nozzle and Jake gave him a smile back. "What? you can't do it then?"
Giving Jake a professional straightening of his invisible coat and a tip of his invisible hat he took an invisible banana from the bench. "Your challenge is accepted sir knight of blasphemy." He was about to embark on the conquest of monkey making, ignoring Jake's laughter, and turned to see a customer waiting, and put down the invisible banana and invisible hat for good measure. "Hey, sorry. What were you after this fine sunny afternoon?"
Eloise had nothing to do today. There weren't any parties later tonight, and it was raining, so she couldn't wander about outside all day. Eloise blindly ducked into a building, deciding to get inside before the rain got much worse. She ducked into the first building she could, not bothering to check which one it was. Eloise shook her head, and ran her hands through her hair, adjusting her bow as she examined the store she just entered. It was nice, warm, and dry in here, and quiet. Maybe Eloise could stay here for a while? 'Starbucks?' Smirking she pulled some cash out of her pocket. She was starving and why not buy something while she's there? "Your challenge is accepted sir knight of blasphemy." Walking up to the counter Eloise just barely suppressed a giggle. When Caleb turned around and said,"Hey, sorry. What were you after this fine sunny afternoon?", Eloise smiled at Caleb brightly and paused to think,"Yo, I don't know, man.... What would you suggest? I'm a bit hungry..."Her stomach grumbled loudly, as if to argue."Ok, a lot hungry." Her nose scrunched up when she laughed again. Covering her mouth she took in a breath and fidgeted with her bracelets.

Caleb recognised Eloise immediately. She was his friend from school, they had a few classes together and he always found her quite fun to be around. His grin widened."Well.I'd suggest eating a horse with a dash of lemon juice and coriander but then people might look at you oddly. It would be a rather large plate. So..." He saw Jake roll his eyes at the silly joke and went to the back as the phone rang suspecting the two already knew each other and it would be a little bit of a conversation moment.
"We have... a few spinach and fetta roll or a sausage roll or a few lovely cakes available for a lovely lady such as yourself. There is also some delicious muffins to ease the beast inside your belly. If you ask me though... I'd go the cake option because sweet things are the best thing in the world," he grinned as he found a clean plate ready for plating and winked at Eloise. "Love the outfit by the way. Colour co-ordinated and very cute."
He heard Jake snort from the back as the phone was set down and the guy shook his head at Caleb amusingly as if saying 'can you please stop flirting with the customers'. Not that it meant much, because everyone knew he liked them boys but he did like putting a smile on someone's face so he tended to enjoy complimenting people. Besides - the customers loved it. You just didn't over-do it and tips were as sweet as the cakes they were selling.
Eloise giggled loudly and a bit obnoxiously."I don't know how to respond to that." Laughter still in her eyes, she nodded and chirped"Cake sounds wonderful. You're such a flatterer." Her face turned just the slightest bit pink and tried to hide it. Pulling at the hem of her shirt, Eloise commented,"The pants don't quite match the shirt, though." Dropping her voice to a whisper, and smiling,"Do you think anyone will notice?" Eloise knew at this point, that she was definetely going to tip him good, for one, he was her friend. And, boy, this guy knew how to melt the customers. Leaning over the counter Eloise glanced a Jake once. Ok, more than once, maybe around 10 times. She was trying to hide it, but it probably came off as very, very obvious that she was staring.
