She is sexually promiscuous, but does not like to get involved emotionally. The few times this has happened, she has ended up being emotionally abusive to her partner. She uses drugs an music as a means of escape and tends to avoid her problems. Samaire enjoys breaking every possible rule she can. She is very good at manipulating people and getting her way. She is very intelligent and has figured out how to pick the lock to her cell. Because she is bipolar, Samaire has periods of highs and lows. During her low periods, Samaire is a danger to herself and others. She will do anything she can to try to harm herself, be it cutting, burning, or biting herself. She kicks, punches, and bites the doctors and nurses who try to administer her medication, so she is tied down. She will also attack other patients at the slightest provocation. She is usually put in solitary confinement during these low times, and put into a straight jacket and muzzle. On her high days, Samaire can be very active. She enjoys being outside and running or climbing trees. She is much less quiet during these days and will spend some time socializing with other patients. Because she lacks empathy, Samaire says whatever she is thinking, often times hurting others in the process. There are times where Samaire will seem to slip into a daydream state. During these times she will space out or laugh quietly. She also will not respond to her name, leading the doctors to believe in the possibility that she may have another personality. At this point, however, not much is known about her condition.

Overall History: Samaire comes from a local, upper class family. She was inseparable from her twin sister, Charlotte. When the twins were five, Charlotte started abusing Samaire. It started with needle pricks, and hair pulling but soon escalated. By the time the girls were ten, Charlotte was routinely beating her twin at night when the two were meant to be sleeping. Charlotte would tie Samaire to the bed before punching her in the stomach, smothering her with pillows, or choking her. On several occasions, Charlotte would throw Samaire down flights of stairs, resulting in broken bones. One night, Charlotte took the beating too far, and ended up breaking one of Samaire’s ribs and puncturing her lung. Samaire spent several days in the hospital. The girls’ parents, not wanting to believe what was happening, blamed the bruises on their daughter on her clumsiness, and did nothing to resolve the situation. Samaire herself was unaware of what was going on. She had developed a split personality, called Natalie. Natalie would take over consciousness whenever Samaire was in danger, to protect her. After a while Samaire became used to finding strange bruises on her body and, like her family, blamed it on her clumsiness. Blacking out and losing time became normal to Samaire. When the girls were thirteen, Charlotte upped the ante. She began cutting Samaire with a razor blade. Samaire believed that she had become depressed and was inflicting the injuries on herself during her blackouts. Several months after the cutting began, the girls were swimming alone at the beach on a cloudy day. Charlotte snapped. She wrapped her hands around Samaire’s throat and attempted to kill her. She dragged her into the water and held her under. Natalie took over Samaire’s body and was able to overcome Charlotte. She hit her over the head with a large rock and held her bleeding head under the water until she drowned. Samaire regained consciousness a few days later. Slowly, Samaire became an unfeeling monster. She began to self-harm and believe that she had in fact killed her sister. Natalie’s appearances grew few and far between. She disregarded her parents and authority. When she was seventeen she slit her throat, attempting to kill herself. Natalie overtook her body and was able to call for an ambulance. After that her parents shipped her off to the Asylum, fearful that she would harm or influence her younger brother.
