ROLLING IN THE DEEP !

So much had been going on in the last six months or so of his life. He was tired, exhausted at best. Everything was finally starting to catch up with him. The other day with his wife had been wonderful, and he had missed her a lot but it sadly only left him feeling more confused. He wanted to be with her, he wanted to get back together, but it just wasn’t in the cards at the time. She wasn’t ready, and neither was he. There was still a lot left for them to discuss, and this time he meant to actually discuss. Not surprisingly though, he found that hard. Nearly six years with the same person leaves you in a rut of comfortable familiarity, yet a lingering sadness and hopelessness. At least for Geoffy. He loved his wife very much, still does, but he had changed so much from the person he was when they first met. He was an adult now, a man plagued with responsibilities that he could no longer escape. At a young age he had gotten his then girlfriend pregnant, and there was only one thing for him to do about it.. He had to marry her. Not once though, like most people think, did he ever.. Ever stop loving her. Family was his world, and since he hadn’t seen his same-sex parents in years, well she had become his only family. Once the twins were born, they all became a family; they were his entire world. Everything he did, he did for them, to make their lives better as a whole.

For the first time in years, he felt alone. There was only him in his apartment at night, never anyone else with him unless on the weekends and he had his little ones with him. But he spent a lot of the time playing his guitar, and drinking. Drinking had become a frequent past time of his, more often now than ever before. It was sad really. He tried not to have emotions, to put them all behind him. There was a constant reminder however, hanging all over his walls, in his wallet, and that was his children. Even if him and his wife decided to separate for good, there would always be the kids. He’d be stuck with Nik for the next seventeen years at minimum, and to be quite honest, it never bothered him. He sort of liked the idea, or one would hope so at least for he did ask for her hand in marriage. Jealousy though was something that she was going to have to work on. He hated it about her, and it was one of the many things he hated about her. Everything else though was minuscule and didn’t really bother him. If it wasn’t obvious to you, Geoffy wanted to hate her but couldn’t. It simple, just wasn’t possible.

Geoffy knew that the two of them had to get back together before the children were old enough to remember them being a broken home. But both parents knew they were already beginning to notice. Nik had even told him that the children asked about him. He was waiting for the day when they begged him to stay at mommy’s house.

After his visit with his wife, he had drank a little more than normal. Of course, it was after he laid his children to bed. He sat there in his chair, playing old songs over and over again, staring off at nothing in particular. He listened to the first mix CD he had ever made for Nikolette, reflecting on his life and what exactly he was doing with it. His band was going places, and fast. In order for him to get back with her, she would have to understand that. Mentally he added it to his list of things to discuss with her, and continued to drown his emotions in booze.

Sitting on the edge of his small bed, Geoff began to roll the hems of his pant legs up. On went his socks, and then his boots, just like normal. He stood, and moved to the closet, selecting one of the many hanging plaid shirts. Over his white tank top it went and careful yet quick fingers buttoned it. He tucked in his shirt and slipped his braces up and over his shoulder. Getting dressed for the young man was simple and easy enough. Geoff basically wore the same thing every day. Plain, but he wouldn’t have been himself if he dressed any differently. As he left, a quick scan of his little apartment was made. Booted feet carried him to the street, and into his car he went. Starting it up, he headed off towards the doctor’s office to meet his wife.

ROLLING IN THE DEEP !

A single masculine hand gripped at the handle and he pulled open the door and stepped inside the building. He was greeted by the cold air and a lingering smell of sickness, masked by a thick cloud of sterilizer. Geoffy didn’t much care for doctor’s. As an adopted child, he spent a lot of time sitting on the sticky examination tables. He wasn’t a sickly little guy, his father’s were just way too protective. The slightest cough and they made an appointment for him to go see Doctor Kato. He was a nice enough man, older and Asian. He was prompt and Geoffy liked that. He didn’t have to spend much time sitting around, trying to occupy himself by looking at books that had obviously been chewed upon by toddlers. A usual visit consisted of walking in, sitting down, getting checked out, and leaving. Geoffy had been blessed with good genetics, and for the most part, so had his offspring. Their doctor wasn’t too bad. Emily was her name. She had a few tattoos and a few obscure ear piercings. But what really mattered was that his little one’s seemed to like her. Nik’s opinion didn’t matter much to him on the subject of doctor’s. She hated them and probably always would.

He spotted his beautiful bride and attempted to fight off a smile. He had a hard time lately fighting off the emotions. It was much easier to do so before they had slept together, but now ignoring them was impossible. Watching her toss the small, colorful toy back and forth did indeed cause him to smile and he watched them for a few seconds before seating himself next to her. A toddling Norma waddled over to him, outreaching her arms in an “I want up” motion. He complied, sitting her down on his knee and kissing her cheek a few times. James was obviously too caught up with his mother to notice his father, and that was alright with Geoffy for the time being. He knew that later he’d be bombarded by the two of them.

Leaning in, he pecked Nikolette on the cheek in a somewhat platonic greeting. Obviously their was always going to be some sort of chemistry between the two. They were married after all, separated or not. “How long have you been waiting here?” His oceanic eyes were locked on his daughter as she showed him just how many fingers he had. Anyone who knew Geoffy, knew that his family meant everything to him and here in this moment, there was the proof. Finally tearing his gaze away from his little one, he glanced down at his son, smiling a blabbering nonsense. Finally he was starting to look more like his father and less like his mother. Though looking like Nik wasn’t a bad thing, she was stunning. But her features were too feminine for a little boy.

Geoff sat with his back against the chair, cradling Norma in his arm. Her small blonde head fell against his shoulder as she continued to count her own fingers, completely mesmerized by her digits. He focused on his wife, looking over at her, casually biting on his lower lip.
